The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Fans' Season 2 Bingo Cards — And She Has Good News

The highly-awaited Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video this week, and fan speculation has been rampant.

The first season presents a large cast of personalities residing in the afterlife, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and builds heated competitions and emotional bonds that fuel audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season vary widely, but certain threads recur frequently: Could a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the showrunner commented recently. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That might mean fans have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how quickly the new season moves, and how many of what they're anticipating happens now.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a few fans make a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
