Eddy Pineiro's long-range field goal sealed success for the San Francisco team
The veteran kicker's extra period field goal earned the San Francisco 49ers a dramatic 26-23 triumph over the Los Angeles Rams at the Inglewood venue
The kicker's mid-range kick - his fourth of the game - cleared via the inside of the left post with under six minutes to go
Game-Ending Play Secures the Win
Deommodore Lenoir and Marques Sigle then combined to prevent Rams running back Williams on the final attempt as the home team pushed for a late equalizing score
Los Angeles Send Game to Extra Period
The home team had previously forced overtime thanks to a 48-yard field goal from kicker Karty with the final seconds left in regulation
Battling Win for Injury-Hit 49ers
It was a hard-fought triumph for the San Francisco squad, who were missing a host of players through injury, including quarterback Purdy and pass catchers Jennings and Pearsall
The starter's replacement, Jones, overcame a leg issue and arm and leg cramps, connecting on 33 out of 49 attempts for 342 yards and a pair of scores
"Ultimately it was about who was going to be the most resilient team, and I believe we were," the quarterback stated
Division Impact
The San Francisco, who experienced their first defeat of the campaign against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, now stand at 4-1 and sit top of the division
"I can't say enough about the guys, they were remarkable," San Francisco coach Kyle Shanahan stated
"It was a massive determination win"
