The European continent is confronting its “most difficult and dangerous situation” since the conclusion of the global conflict of 1939-1945, the Danish leader announced during an European Union meeting focused on enhancing the continent’s battle readiness by the close of the 2020s.

Collaboration Emphasized Amid Unconventional Conflict

Urging cooperation, the prime minister emphasized that each European state were impacted by the “Russian hybrid war”, whether through unmanned aerial vehicle intrusions and covert operations.

“I trust that each nation recognises at this point that exists a multi-domain conflict, and one day the focus is on Poland, subsequently our nation is affected, and next week it will probably be somewhere else that encounters disruptive acts or unauthorized drone activity,” the prime minister stated during the summit. “In my view we face the most difficult and dangerous situation after the second world war.”

International Support along with Security Enhancements

Emmanuel Macron, who showed support for Copenhagen regarding the latest UAV violations, struck a more restrained note: “We have to be prepared to discourage hostile actions, but it is crucial to be above all extremely careful and prevent increased tensions.”

Ahead of this week's gatherings, featuring a more extensive meeting of leaders on Thursday, Copenhagen's government banned aerial traffic to commercial UAVs, after a wave of unrecognized drones were spotted at airports.

Through a document to European capitals before Wednesday’s meeting, the commission indicated the EU should advance dual initiatives with “special urgency”:

2. An extensive program to defend the EU’s eastern borders – through multiple dimensions – known as Frontier Surveillance Initiative.

Member countries were encouraged to approve these broad plans in the coming weeks, along with additional collaborative programs, anti-missile systems and a orbital defense.

Economic Assistance combined with Regulatory Concerns

However national representatives hold different views over a substantial financial package for Kyiv using blocked Russian resources. The idea has gained momentum following the Berlin's representative supported the plan last week, but key member states have doubts.
